Parent Voice

At Hugh Gaitskell Primary School we value home/school communication and, as part of this partnership, we are interested in the opinions of our students, parents and carers. Every parent/carer is asked to complete a questionnaire about the school during our Parents' Evenings however we welcome your feedback at any point during the year (find our Parent Questionnaire attached).  We use the results of these questionnaires to reflect on current practice and in discussions for possible action and future developments, to further improve the school.

See below to see our latest parent questionnaire analysis.

Our parent feedback from our  'Bring Your Parent to School'  was overwhelmingly positive and many of you requested more workshops so we will be hosting these again throughout the year!

"It's good to see how my children learn so that I can help them to develop their knowledge at home"

" I enjoyed participating and was able to see what is being taught"

"I saw the teachers helping the children to reason for themselves"

"It was great seeing the children working so hard together"

The first workshops of the year will give you the opportunity to experience how children learn and how we teach mathematics. We will introduce a brief overview of the rise in expectations for maths in light of the new curriculum and take parents through different activities they can do at home to support their children.

These will be held weekly, with a focus on individual year groups as set out below
