New 2016/ 2017 Nursery Blog coming soon...

Welcome to Hugh Gaitskell Primary School Nursery

Week ending 25th March 2016

Another busy week in Nursery doing lots of Easter activities. We hope you all have a very enjoyable Easter weekend!

Week ending 18th March 2016

This week in Nursery we have been learning about growing. We have learnt what plants/ flowers need in order to grow and also got the chance to grow cress in cups (which are sitting at the window sill getting enough light). Soon we will be making egg and cress sandwiches We also looked at how humans grow by looking at different life stages and putting them in the correct order.

Week ending 4th March 2016

Happy Mother's Day!! We made butterfly Mother's Day cards for our Mummy, Nana or Grandma this week. We tried our best to write our names in our cards to impress our grown ups! We also made butterfly cakes to take home!

Week ending 26th February 2016

In Nursery, we have started our topic of 'mini beasts'! We have been playing with creepy crawlies and looking at them closley with magnifying glasses. We have painted butterflies, worms and also been counting how many legs mini beasts have altogether. We have been watching short video clips of where to find mini beasts and how a caterpiller turns into a butterfly!

Week ending 12th February 2016

At last, time to take a break! This half term we have learnt lots about people who help us and had the fire fIghters in too! We all got the opportunity to have a go at spraying water with their hose pipes and the fun part was when the fire engine drove off with sirens!

Next term we will be learning all about mini beasts and growing!

Week ending 5th February 2016

This week in Nursery we have been learning about how teachers, cleaners and caretakers help us around school.
All children had the opportunity to dress up as either 'people who help us' which ties into this half terms topic or their favourite character to celebrate world book day.

Welcome to Hugh Gaitskell Primary School Nursery.
Take a look at our exiting learning that takes place indoors and out.
